In three weeks we’ll be having our municipal elections here in Norway. I’m on the list for one of the parties with a list here in my municipality (the second highest candidate for my party in fact). Now potential voters are calling me, wanting to know more.. What do you think about this, what does your party mean about that, why should we do this and why on bloody earth should we vote for you ye bloody wanker..
Sorry.. My point is, it’s been ten years since I was involved in ze politics like this, and I’m rusty as hell, combine that with no sleep for more than 72 hours and you’ll get “Bradleigh shit’s his pants”..
So yeah. Rant over, don’t ever go into politics kids.. NEVER ;)

I don’t mind, there’s no huge secrect that I’m pretty far on the left side. The party is Rødt (red).

Well, don’t all politicians say that? Perhaps I should tell them that I am indeed a crook :P

Yeah, I did some Google-Fu and I think I’ll like them. But I’m kinda in a public place and I don’t got no headphones son ;)

They seem to be very far left if Wiki is to be believed. Electoral suicide here but Norway seems to be different.

Oh, to live in a place where a legitimately Socialist party can enter office...

Oh but don’t you know socalism never works? /s

We are VERY left.. well, actually we are socialists. But extreme left compared to what most americans consider Socialist.

Well.. legally we can, we’d never get there though :P But yeah, THAT IS true freedom.

Even here in Canada, where we have more than two powerful parties, unlike the US, the Greens are the only true-left/peoples’ party with any power at all.

Isn’t Rødt technically Communist, albeit moderately so?

Norway have had YEARS with social democrazy.. uhm democracy ;)
The party that’s at the far right wing (if you don’t count the pure racist parties) would be something like the Democrats in the US, perhaps even a bit to the left in some cases.

Yes, and no.. It’s a mishmash of tiny parties that figured they’d be better of trying to work together, so we’ve got people that’re pretty much pure Socialism but perhaps somewhat of a Social democrat, we’ve got people that are true marxists, we’ve got people that think that Social anarchism is the best thing (the problem is that people are in general egotistical). We’re a weird bunch of punks, hippies, lawyers and football coaches.

That’s really weird to think about. Fortunately the Canadian Conservatives are only slightly to the right of the Democrats, and we don’t have any significant far-right parties.

It’s all about perspective I guess, land of the free was built on something that’s.. well.. not valid as freedom anymore. But let’s not go there :)
Canada seems like a nice place though, they speak funny in some parts I’ve heard. :)

Sounds like what Syriza was, but in a place with no need for anti-austerity.

Not a bad simile at all. Rødt will never vote yes whn it comes to EU or Eurozone, but yeah, I guess Syriza is not that far off.
